This unique musical, with an all-female cast, has a story that will touch the hearts and bring a flood of memories to anyone who can remember the sights, sounds and aroma of the farm! Not the clamor of today’s computerized, highly-mechanized corporate farms, but the farms where the cows and the chicks all had names. Where the horse pulled the plow and carried you to church. Where the auto-wagon was viewed with disdain because you couldn’t raise the fuel to feed it! There were trials and triumphs, love and love lost, life and death, but through it all the strength of the human spirit to endure and go on. Minnesota playwrights Lance Belville and Eric Peltoniemi examine many topics ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous, but underneath all the pain as well as the laughter, they show the tremendous drive of these characters to gain equality for all women. This story is told by a traveling country band of women who draw from the strength and character of their grandmas and great-grandmas to tell the story of the plain women on the farms in this area.
