The Dassel-Cokato Arts Association is pleased to welcome Don Shelby’s one-man show, Mark Twain: Life on the Mississippi! Best known for the novel “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” (1876) and its sequel, “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” (1885), Twain also worked as a master riverboat pilot on the Mississippi River before the Civil War and penned the travel book and memoir “Life on the Mississippi” in 1883. In this one-man show, Mark Twain, portrayed by former WCCO news anchor and author Don Shelby, will amaze you with his wit and sensibility. Not only does Don Shelby look like Mark Twain, he tells a story like Mark Twain with all the home spun humor and detail we all know Twain for!
